Charles Russell Speechlys: Redefining success through responsible business
I started working with law firm Charles Russell Speechlys back in 2020 and collaborated with its marketing and design team to produce its first Responsible Business Report. This showcased the pro bono and social impact activities driving the firm forward, and the innovative ways that it helped clients and communities during the Covid-19 crisis.
The report involved full project management for the content, from mapping out articles to writing, editing and proofing them. I worked closely with an external designer, and carried out multiple interviews with senior partners, other key stakeholders and clients.
As one might expect with this project, interviews were varied and wide-ranging, including the important work CRS was doing with frontline non-profit European Lawyers in Lesvos and the firm’s support for the Legal Sector Alliance (which would become the Legal Sustainability Alliance), launched and championed by arctic explorer and ocean conservationist Pen Hadow.
We produced two further Responsible Business Reports together over the following two years before redesigning and broadening the scope of the content to create an ongoing Annual Review for the firm. I have produced several other pieces of content for Charles Russell Speechlys since then, including a Gen Z report about wealth management and a branded series of articles about family offices and wealth management for FT.com.
“Hannah is a very talented copywriter. She takes time and care to understand the brief and the subject matter and produces very high-quality work as a result. She has been particularly good at getting to know our tone of voice as an organisation and translating that into her drafting. Hannah is also a joy to work with – smart, fun, pragmatic and collaborative.”
